Page content and search.
- Read a page
- Search shared content
Protuno connects to Notion with an internal integration secret and only sees the pages you share with the integration. It cannot see anything else in your workspace.
No install needed for the audit. We suggest connecting a staging copy of your site first, before your live site.
Reads can run on their own. Writes ask you first by default.

Add a database row and append blocks. Both ask first by default.
Showing 4 of 4 capabilities
Read a pagenotion.page.read
Reads a shared page's content. It does not return the page's properties.
Needs: Read content capability on the integration
Search shared contentnotion.content.search
Searches titles of pages and databases that have been shared with the integration.
Needs: Read content capability on the integration
Create a database rownotion.database_row.create
Adds a row to a database you shared with the integration, for example a report entry.
Undo: Move the row to trash by setting in_trash to true. That is reversible: setting in_trash back to false restores it.
Needs: Insert content capability on the integration
Append blocks to a pagenotion.block.append
Adds new blocks to the end of any page you shared with the integration, such as a new section in a runbook.
Undo: Delete the blocks Protuno added. Notion moves deleted blocks to its trash, so a person can still restore them.
Needs: Update content capability on the integration
Reads run on their own against whatever you have shared with the integration. Adding a database row or appending blocks asks first by default.
Adds a row to a database you shared with the integration, summarising recent findings.
Ask firstAppends new blocks to the end of a page you shared, such as a runbook, when a playbook's steps change, instead of creating a duplicate page each time.
Ask firstReads the content of any page shared with the integration. It reads the content only, not the page's properties.
ReadsSearches titles of pages and databases shared with the integration to locate the correct page or database before writing to it.
ReadsNo playbook reads it yet. It is where a report or a runbook is written.
How it connects: you create an internal integration in Notion, share the pages you want with it, and paste its secret into Protuno. What the integration may do (read, insert and update content) is set on the integration in Notion, not by Protuno.
Copy its secret. It starts with ntn_, and older secrets start with secret_.
you see: The integration's settings with its capabilities, and a secret you can copy.
The integration cannot see a page until you share it. Sharing a parent page also shares its child pages.
you see: The integration listed under the page's connections.
you see: A field for the secret and a Connect button.
you see: Reads on the left and writes on the right: reading and searching shared content on the left, and adding a database row and appending blocks on the right.
Writes ask you first by default.
you see: A control for each capability, with writes set to ask first.
you see: A plain sentence summing up exactly what was granted, an Agree button and a confirmation screen.
Notion's docs do not name a paid-plan requirement for an internal integration, but you need to be a workspace owner to create one. What differs by plan is the rate limit, covered in the next question.
Notion limits requests per integration, and the limit depends on your workspace plan. A shared limit also applies across all of a workspace's integrations, so Protuno can be slowed down even when its own integration is under its limit. Notion's request limits page has the current numbers.
It cannot delete or edit existing content, change sharing, or read people's email addresses. It adds database rows and appends to pages you share, and both ask you first by default.
Reads reflect whatever is in the shared page right now. Notion caps the size of each request, so very large pages are read and written in parts.
A 403 usually means the page was not shared with the integration, or the integration lacks the capability for that action. Add the integration to the page with Add connections, or turn on the capability in the integration's settings in Notion. Protuno does not set capabilities for you.
In Notion, open the page's ••• menu, go to Connections and remove the integration, or delete the integration in the Developer portal. Disconnecting in Protuno does not revoke the key at Notion. Delete it there to cut access for good.
Capability names and default settings (on its own or ask first) are Protuno's own, and they can change as the product develops. Playbook plan, schedule and date come from Protuno's agent pages. Protuno last confirmed this connector's build status on 13 Oct 2026. Vendor limits and permissions on this page follow the vendor's public documentation as reviewed on 13 Oct 2026. The vendor's own page is the final word.
The free audit looks at the site from the outside. Connect tools afterwards, one capability at a time.
